Monday, December 10, AT&T Room, basement of Missouri History Society, 5700 Lindell Blvd. (in Forest Park), 63112 - 7:00-9:30 p.m.The St. Louis Coalition for Human Rights holds its annual commemoration of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly 70 years ago (December 10, 1948). The topic this year (focused on Articles 2, 7, 17, 25, and 27 of the Declaration) is “What are the Barriers to Healthy Food as a Human Right?” Winners of the Essay Contests for Middle School and High School Students will read their essays on how these particular Human Rights are relevant to our own local situation. A panel of informed experts also will discuss the local implications of the Declaration. As usual some local "Heroes and Sheroes" will be honored.
